Die besondere Position des Grundstücks wird als Übergangs- gelenk zu dieser wesenhaften Waldstruktur begriffen. Die sig- nifi kante Gebäudestruktur assoziiert unmittelbar Bilder, die an Landschafts- und Waldstrukturen erinnern und wird der be- sonderen Torsituation gerecht. Die Baukörperstruktur entsteht durch die Rotation einer amorphen Grundfi gur um einen fi xen Gebäudekern. Die Rotation ist z.T. minimal, z.T. gravierender, so dass selbstverständlich differenzierte räumliche Situationen ent- stehen, z.B. die Eingangshalle oder der terrassierte Dachterras- senbereich. Diese Bereiche sind entsprechend zu besonderen Blickachsen in der Umgebung orientiert. Gebäudetypologisch ergeben sich dabei vielfältige Raumsitua- tionen, Überlagerungen und Zwischenräume. Es entsteht eine variantenreiche Bürolandschaft mit besonderer Kohärenz von Außen- und Innenräumen, die sich nicht auf den ersten Blick ent- schlüsseln lässt. Zeitgenössische Themen wie Wahrnehmung, Interaktion, Flexibilität, Prozesshaftigkeit werden imaginiert. Area 3 is located next to the northern entrance to Gateway Gardens, bordering directly on the municipal forest. The spe- cial position of the plot makes it function as interstitial link to the characteristic structure of the forest. The building's sig- nifi cant structure directly evokes images that are remindful of landscape and forest structures, doing justice to its specifi c gate function. The structure of the building shell is created by rotating an amorphous basic shape around a fi xed build- ing core. The rotation is minimal in some cases and consider- able in others, creating differentiated spatial arrangements in the process, e.g. for the lobby or the terraced rooftop patios. These areas orient themselves accordingly toward special lines of sight aimed at the surroundings. In building typology terms, this results in a diversity of room layouts, overlaps, and gaps. It creates a richly varied offi ce landscape with particular coherence between exterior and interior spaces that defy decryption at fi rst glance.
